i just stomped this, and i thought since i'd alr typed it, i might as well post it here to update my blog. :D
RTF movers rip open boxes for money and company responds, "anyone would have done the same thing"
On September 29, 2010 at 10.30am, 3 staff from RTF Movers ransacked our boxes while shifting them to the truck. Out of the 3, only 1 of them was doing the shifting while the other 2 were walking around the house. when my father went into one of the room, he realised that one of our boxes which was previously closed was placed open with my empty handphone box on the floor and the piggy bank beneath in a different orientation. My father thought that there was nothing valuable in the box and closed the box and continued with the shifting. It was not until at night when my dad told me of the incident and asked me to check if anything was missing that i realised that all my money in the piggy bank was emptied except for 2 indonesian notes and some cards. the piggy bank consisted of around $1000/- worth of notes. My younger sister then told me that her box was also ripped open and her belongings were ransacked. later on, one of my aunts told us that she had actually saw the three staff splitting money at the void deck and she had thought that they were getting their pay. The next day, i went to make a police report. My father then called the company, RTF movers to lodge a complaint and they actually put the blame on me and said that i was too careless to put my money in the box, and anyone would have done the same thing. Was i to blame for trusting their company, or was it their fault for not reminding me beforehand that they do engage such contemptible staff who ransack clients' boxes for money?
